Using SSL with Cloudbric

We have three different SSL modes: basic, full and custom.

1. Basic SSL

"I didn't have an SSL certificate previously but now I want to use one."

Please make sure your site is SSL ready. This means your contents have to communicate via port 443 and redirect all your links to https. For more information, please refer to https://cloudbric.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/210513906-If-you-applied-for-SSL-when-you-weren-t-using-SSL-before-.

This option encrypts communication between a user and Cloudbric, but not between Cloudbric and your web server.

User (Client) <--- Let's Encrypt SSL ---> Cloudbric Server <--- No SSL ---> Web Server

2. Full SSL

"I have an SSL, and I want to get one from Cloudbric."

All you need to do is click a box that says, “No, I do NOT have an SSL certificate” during registration. Cloudbric will automatically issue an SSL, provided by Let’s Encrypt, for your website once you change the DNS information.

This option encrypts communication between a user and Cloudbric using Let's Encrypt SSL, but use your own SSL between Cloudbric and your web server.

User (Client) <--- Let's Encrypt SSL ---> Cloudbric Server <--- Your SSL ---> Web Server

3. Custom SSL

"I have an SSL and I want to use mine."

If you wish to use a custom SSL between a user and Cloudbric, please submit a ticket here and attach both the certificate and key.

There are two possible scenarios when you select custom SSL option as below.

1. Basic: User (Client) <--- Your SSL ---> Cloudbric Server  <--- No SSL ---> Web Server

2. Full: User (Client) <--- Your SSL ---> Cloudbric Server  <--- Your SSL ---> Web Server

We issue SSL certificates for all websites. Cloudbric will automatically issue an SSL, provided by Let’s Encrypt, for your website once you change the DNS information. This is the same for both scenarios.
